July 2017 - Kat Naeve's Cancer Fundraiser

Katrina’s GoFundMe page reminded me of her amazing, full-body, wonderful laugh. I enjoy that about her.
— CHRISTIN, member of MITZVOTERS

I came to know Katrina when we both studied abroad in Chile in Spring of 2011. She also attended Colorado College during the same time as the MITZVOTERS crew.

After graduation, she joined the Peace Corps and spent two years living in a South African village teaching English to children. Back in the states, she began working at Gigi’s Playhouse, a nonprofit that empowers individuals with Down syndrome and their families. While there, she decided to pursue a Masters in International Development, and after completing the program, she got a job with a USAID contractor implementing development projects across the world.

At age 27, she was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive bone cancer called Ewing’s Sarcoma. We hope that our donation will help with the $500 co-pays and relieve some of the financial stress as she fights this cancer.
